Waiting on Wednesday (#11)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. WoW is a post to share the books you’re anxiously anticipating on. I have two selections this week. It’s a Kasie West longing week apparently. 🙂

My first selection:

The_Fill_In_Boyfriend_CoverThe Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West

Release Date: May 5th, 2015

Published By: HarperTeen

Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary

Purchase: Amazon / Barnes and Noble / Book Depository

Goodreads Summary:

When Gia Montgomery’s boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she has to think fast. After all, she’d been telling her friends about him for months now. This was supposed to be the night she proved he existed. So when she sees a cute guy waiting to pick up his sister, she enlists his help. The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend— two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. After that, she can win back the real Bradley.

The problem is that days after prom, it’s not the real Bradley she’s thinking about, but the stand-in. The one whose name she doesn’t even know. But tracking him down doesn’t mean they’re done faking a relationship. Gia owes him a favor and his sister intends to see that he collects: his ex-girlfriend’s graduation party — three hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.

Just when Gia begins to wonder if she could turn her fake boyfriend into a real one, Bradley comes waltzing back into her life, exposing her lie, and threatening to destroy her friendships and her new-found relationship.

~Why I Can’t Wait~

I. Love. That. Cover. It’s just about perfect!

I’ve never read a Kasie West book, but I’ve heard both of her Young Adult Contemporary Romances (The Distance Between Us and On The Fence) are really good. She’s somewhat of a queen at writing YA Romance. The Fill-In Boyfriend reminds me a bit of To All The Boys I Loved Before (#1) by Jenny Han, another YA Contemporary romance in which the main character, Lara ends up in a fake relationship only to end up confused about where she stands.

Normally, I’m not into love triangles or fake relationships, but seeing as this is Kasie West, I’m so excited.

~My Second Selection~

The Sun, The Moon, and the Truth by Kasie West

Release Date: Spring 2016

Published By: Egmont

Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary

Purchase: N/A

Goodreads Summary:

In The Sun, the Moon, and the Truth, a post from a fake celebrity social media account sets a single-minded swimmer on a hunt to find out the person’s true identity.

 ~Why I Can’t Wait~

There isn’t a whole lot known about this novel aside from the summary, release year and the title.

I think I might love the summary of this a bit. It involves social mystery, a swimmer and a sort of mystery. I like seeing social media take more of a focus in Young Adult novels since so many people use and rely on social media. I hope there will be a small focus on the swimming aspect of the main character too.

Let me just say, I adore the title. It just sounds really pretty. I’m interested in knowing what the cover will look like. I read on Publisher’s Weekly that there will be a sequel to this book which means…three Kasie West books in the next couple of years!
