Looking Forward To: February ’15

Looking_Forward_To_February
Looking Forward To is a monthly feature where I talk about music, movies, books, and etc. that I’m looking forward to in the following month.

~Books~

  • I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios (Feb. 3 from Henry Holt and Co. (BYR) / Macmillan)
    • I have heard nothing but amazing things about this book, so I’m really looking forward to it. I already have it on hold for then it’s released electronically for my library. 🙂 So you can be sure I’ll be reading it at midnight.
  • Invaded (Alienated #2) by Melissa Landers (Feb. 3 from Disney-Hyperion)
    • I haven’t read Alienated yet, though I did buy it (.99 Kindle book on Amazon), but I’ve also heard it’s really good. Plus the cover is so pretty.
  • My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga (Feb. 10 from Balzer + Bray / HarperCollins)
    • I have an ARC for this and I’ll be reading it after I finish my current book. I love that it’s “dealing”/”discussing”/using a different angle of suicide. It also sounds really sad.
  • When Reason Breaks by Cindy L. Rodriguez (Feb. 10 from Bloomsbury USA Childrens)
    • I read When Reason Breaks a couple weeks ago. I mostly enjoyed it and I’m excited for other people to check it out.
  • The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand (Feb. 10 from Harper Teen / HarperCollins)
    • Another book about suicide, this sounds really sad (of course), but moving and meaningful and I like the angle it takes.
  • One of The Guys by Lisa Aldin (Feb. 10 from Spencer Hill Press)
    • I’ve never really read a book about a tomboy before or where a girl had all guy friends. I’m a little worried about how this will go, but I’ll be giving it a shot.
  • Red Queen (Red Queen Trilogy #1) by Victoria Aveyard (Feb. 10 from Orion)
    • I have heard such mixed reactions about this, I’m a bit scared to read it. By a bit, i mean a lot. I’m a lot scared to read it. I’m sure that’s not correct wording, but it gets the point across. 🙂
  • When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill (Feb. 24th from Ballantine Press)
    • Ah, Liz Czukas, I’m dying to read Top Ten Clues You’re Clueless by her and I’m so excited to read this. I read a review about it and I was just like “Omg, I have to read it”. It deals with a Friends with Benefits relationship that spans seven years and I’m just like “Yes please”. 1. It gives me One Day (by David Nicholls feels) and 2. It gives me DUFF feels which I just finished the yesterday.
  • Remember by Eileen Cook (Feb. 24th from Simon Pulse)
    • I’m 40% into this book and so far I think it’s really interesting. It’s about a girl whose dad is head of this company that can “softens” people’s memories of events (it doesn’t erase them, it just takes the pain away, hence “softens”) and at the beginning of the novel, the procedure has just been approved for children and teens (which seems insane to me, the children part), and of course, the main character wants to get the procedure done. There’s a bit of mystery involved in it and although I’ve made a few predictions already, I’m excited to see where it goes.
  • No Parking At The End Times by Bryan Bliss (Feb. 24th from Greenwillow Books / HarperCollins)
    • Can I just say the bus on the cover reminds me of the bus on Mosquitoland? It totally does and before a couple weeks ago, I never really noticed it. I’m so excited for this one.
  • Better Than Perfect by Melissa Kantor (Feb. 27 from Harper Teen / HarperCollins)
    • For some reason, I thought this was a thriller. It’s not! Haha. 🙂 It’s about a girl named Juliet who has to deal with her parents separation, her mother “losing it” and a guy named Declan, who’s of course gorgeous. Did I mention she has a boyfriend? She does. We can definitely see where this is going, doesn’t mean I’m not still interested in it. I’m particularly interested in how her mother “loses it”.
  • The Distance Between Lost and Found by Kathryn Holmes (Feb. 27 from Harper Teen / HarperCollins)
    • I’m kind of excited to read this. I read a comment on a negative review that said it mentioned the user of Black Ice by Fitzpatrick. Now I haven’t read Black Ice, but I’ve read the summary and the review and I didn’t’ like the relationship portrayed in it at all or the idea. So I’m worried about this one now…

~Movies~

THE DUFF!
(Feb. 20)
Which is a book-to movie adaption! From The DUFF: The Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger. ❤

“Problem solved”
“Oh hey, look at that”. I love you, I love you so much. ❤
“Have you not seen Dateline? Catfish? Pretty Little Liars?”
I need this movie in my life, like now.
The Last Five Years
(Feb. 13)
I’m so excited! This one’s a musical to movie adaptation that was made a couple years ago but is now being released! Yay!
This is the first time I’ve actually watched the trailer…. I think I’m in love. Who is this guy? Who IS this guy? Jeremy Jordan, I think I freaking love you. I’m not crazy about Anna Kendrick, I’m sad to admit, but I’m sure I could be! Hopefully. I will be seeing this movie. Multiple times.

~Music~

  • Smallpools LOVETAP! Feb. 3
    • I loved their EP, so I can’t wait to check out their full album. ❤
  • Peace Happy People Feb. 9
    • I haven’t listened to Peace too much, but I will now.
  • Father John Misty I Love You, Honeybear Feb. 10
    • I loved his single,
  • Imagine Dragons Smoke + Mirrors Feb. 17
    • I totally fell in love with their Night Visions album, i can’t believe they’re finally coming out with this one.
  • Red Of Beauty and Rage Feb. 24
    • I need to get caught back up on Red, I can’t remember the last album of theirs I actually listened to all the way through. 😦
  • Sia performs for Grammy’s
    • Sia Sia Sia ❤
  • Idina Menzel performs(ed) at the Super Bowl
    • I totally wanted to watch her perform at the Super Bowl on tv, but I ended up missing it. 😦 So I Youtube’d it! And she was great, here’s the video.
    • And if you do not think she was great, please spare my heart the pain and do not tell me so. 🙂

~Random Things I’m Looking Forward To~

  • Reading more than last month, hopefully
  • Applying for bank jobs (if I ever get over this cold, in which case)
  • Breathing again, see above.
  • More Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries episodes, though I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, hmm….
  • Tax refunds, let’s be honest, getting money back is nice.
What are you guys looking forward to this month? Thanks for stopping by.

I hope I get a tax refund. If I don’t… well, things are bound to get ugly around here 😉 Also, YES to I’ll Meet You There! And No Parking at the End of Times does sound amazing!

I think I have pre ordered… 3 books this month? The Glass Arrow, Scripted, and The Last Time We Said Goodbye. OH and A Darker Shade of Magic! So 4. But I also REALLY want City of Savages, so that will likely happen too.

I LOVE TAX REFUNDS. And I’m so jealous! Stop bragging. 😦 My parents were supposed to make me an appointment when they had theirs filed, but forgot. But I’m going to try to get mine filed next week or the week after at the latest (it’ll only cost $20 that way).

You need to read The Duff! I finished it and I loved it, so yes, you must check it out! And I will definitely be watching it. I’m going to try to go on the release day. 🙂 Or at least opening week.
