Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#28)

Hi! Here is my weekly feature where I showcase three (possibly less or more) book covers. I love covers a lot and I love finding similar trends or aspects in covers. This will be where I share all of them. ❤ You can view past week’s themes and covers here.
This week I’m sharing covers that definitely share the same theme and similar locations.
~One~
The Tenderness of Thieves
The Tenderness of Thieves by Donna Freitas
~Two~
What You Left Behind
What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi

~My Thoughts~

Okay, so this week I am only doing two covers instead of three. I had a third one picked out, but then I picked up on the extreme similarities between The Tenderness of Thieves and What You Left Behind and was like “Okay, that’s TOO perfect”.
I adore these covers put together like this. They both feature empty locations, single characters, have a huge focus on the sky, ocean and font. They share practically the exact. same. tone. I love the contrast with the girl in The Tenderness of Thieves looking to the ocean while the guy in What You Left Behind looks away from it. It’s interesting how the girl’s arms appear to be crossed and the guy’s doing something with his foot (kicking sand?). I just love love love these two covers together.
This may possibly be my favorite post yet for this feature. ❤ Let me know what YOU think about them and throw any similar covers at me that you’ve seen! I love covers.
