Wondrous Covers Wednesday (#39)

I. Love. Covers. Henceforth I had to make a cover feature, of course. Wondrous Covers Wednesday  is a  weekly feature I created which showcases three book covers that I love that share themes or common attributes.

Good afternoon everyone! Music’s always been a big part of my life since middle school. It’s definitely got me through some hard times and been there for happy times as well. For today’s Wondrous Covers Wednesday, I wanted to pick covers where headphones held the spotlight.

In Real Life

In Real Life by Jessica Love (Publishes March 1st from St. Martins)

~My Thoughts~

Okay, things I love about this cover:
1. The white font and how it has speckles in the title! I like that little touch.
2. The background color! I like how it’s a muted color.
3. THE HEART BECAUSE WHO DOESN’T LIKE A HEART MADE OUT OF HEADPHONE CORDS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE? ❤
Now, I am not sure what I think about the actual headphones. The color kind of turns me off and so does the style. Other than that though, love!<3

Encore To An Empty Room

Encore To An Empty Room (Exile #2) by Kevin Emerson

~My Thoughts~

I more or less have a think for blue covers. Once again, we have the heart made out of the headphone cords, that’s a common theme with these kinds of covers. 🙂 I don’t know what I think about the neon green font color, on one hand, I like it, it makes the book seem fun and upbeat despite the “empty room”. On the other hand, it seems to be a little much with the bright blue background.

This Ordinary Life

This Ordinary Life by Jennifer Walkup (Publishes October 1 from Luminis Books Inc.)

~My Thoughts~

This cover reminds me of We Own The Night with the city in the background and the record in the center. I actually featured that cover a couple months ago! They both feature DJs too! What in the world? I KNOW. Insanity, I want them.  🙂

In other words, I love it! I love the few simple colors being used. The muted background works really well!  I love the little airplanes being used at the top and bottom. The font’s fun and stands out to me.

~Bonus!~

And of course, what are headphones without earbuds? Or maybe that’s actually vice versa since the former came first! I LOVE SEEING HEADPHONES AND EARBUDS ON COVERS. I love the musical elements and I just really want to read all of these books RIGHT. NOW. Which sucks because, er, This Ordinary Life isn’t out until October, In Real Life isn’t out until next year and Empty Room is a sequel, well, what can you do? At least I read the two down below! I’m pretty sure I featured them in a previous WCW, but I just had to show them off again. I love them.

Nick and Norah's Infinite PlaylistJuliet, Naked

Those are it for my covers! Tell me you’re favorite one, if you’ve read any of the books and any other music inspired covers that you like! I really am obsessed with music related covers. 🙂
